KRUGER PARK - MARCH 2007
Mr Elephant! There are way too many elephants in the Kruger Park at the moment. The stupid greenies are stopping the rangers from culling them. Typical.
The man himself, Paul Kruger
The entrace to the Olifants camp.
Albert and "Oom Doe" trying to spot animals early in the morning!

Southern carmine bee-eater
Hang on tight!!
Our bungalow at Olifants. We spent our first night here.
Albert having great fun riding "Mr Olifant!"
Joe & I went for a morning walk. We left at 4:45am and came back at 9:30. There was 6 of us in the group, plus two rangers. It was great, we saw lots of the smaller things that you dont get to see from the car. Everything smells so nice and fresh early in the morning too.
This is a frogs nest!! They make a foam nest in the tree, then when the eggs get bigger and heaver, it falls into the water underneath and the tadpoles hatch. Neat hey?
We felt much safter after seeing these guns!
Kudu
Purple Roller. These birds are cool, they fly really high up, and then they come back down doing all these fancy loops and stuff. Looks like an air-show!
African Paradise-flycatcher
African grey hornbill. I think its a young one.
Natal Francolin
One huge rhino!
This was on our morning walk...Joe had to pee...so the ranger said he had to come with to fight off any snake eaters that might be hiding in the bushes :-) ha ha... Some punks crossing the road
Look at me, I'm so handsome!! (not!) Its a Marabou Stork; I couldn't get a front-on shot, then you'll really see how ugly he is!
I got this funny feeling that something was watching us...
Bateleur. I think we were pretty lucky to see this one.
This elephant was determined to chase all the buffalo away!
Ugly Hyena!
Our last night was in Skukuza - cute little bungalow.
My handsome husband :-)
Me getting nice and close to an elephant and thinking..."this fence is kinda low?!"
Mummy bat with baby bat. Can you work it out?

Way to go girl! Just take all of Daddy's money!!

LOSKOP DAM LODGE
Joe had to do some work on this lodge at Loskop Dam. Oom Eppie has been busy here for ages and stays here during the week.

Our cute little chalet where Joe & I stayed. There is 6 of these chalets just below the lodge. So its really nice and quiet in the middle of the bush, hardly anyone around!
The view from the lodge, its a stunning place.
Oom Eppie die bosvark :) Joe the baboon braaing in a fantastic spot (not)
Joe my hero, he was very brave and took a big stick when we went bush walking to fight off any baboons that might want to attack his wife :)
Having dinner with Oom Eppie & Tannie Mia at the Loskop Dam resteraunt. It tasted really good and our meals were FREE! One of the big black ladies that works there asked Oom Eppie if he's not looking for another wife? ha ha...
Pumba the Warthog! He's so handsome. Oom Eppies best friend during the long weeks while he's working at the lodge. Unfortunately he died after breaking into the lodge and eating a whole tin of yellow paint. Ag shame!
