IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY HUSBAND, JOHANNES KERKHOFF
27 June 1981 - 18 July 2007
To all my friends, family and brothers & sisters in Christ all over the world; I would like to say thank you so much for all your prayers and support during this difficult time in my life. The phonecalls, emails, visits etc was truly amazing.
Thank you, and lots of love from Jo-Ellen.

(A poem written for me by Sonja v.d.Bout)
JOE
One name, many different memories.
Memories of a great husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin & friend.
Why God, did his life come to an end?
Although his pain came to an end,
Yours has only now started,
From your great love you are parted.
Your heart must now have time to mend.
He brought so much love and laughter during his short life.
I remember your wedding day.
It seems like only yesterday,
In his eyes shone so much love for his new wife.
Why God, did you take him away?
It feels like he still had such a big role in many lives to play.
How could You leave behind a young widow?
A grieving father, mother, sisters and a brother.
So much pain and so much sorrow?
We know he is happier with You now.
No more pain for him, no more limits in his life.
Dear Lord, please be with his wife.
Give her strength and carry her through her sorrow.
Give her in time again a will and lust for life.
And may she experience a will to see forward to a new tomorrow.
Joe, we will remember you with fondness,
Your smile and love will never be forgotton.
And although your life is over on earth with us here;
In Heaven your place was ready and you go on living there.
You will forever be in our hearts, dear Joe.
Your memories will never go.

ALISON HAS ARRIVED!!
We went to Pilansburg Game Reserve for the day. Its a 'mini Kruger' but very nice.

Ahh, lekker! Enjoying a nice coffee break. Cornelia, me, Anja & Wilna

Enjoying a huge marshmallow coffee at Pick-a-Pancake, near Hartebeespoort Dam.

Stopped at Tan' Malie shop, it really stank from all the bokkum (dried fish, mm) hanging on strings

At the rodeo! Wilna, Jesca, Anja, Alison. It wasn't an organised rodeo, just a bunch of Cornelia & Wilnas friends.
"CAPTEIN BOSMOSSEL" classic... (captain bush mussel)

At the entrance, dont know what this flag was doing here!?

RENOVATION UPDATE...
Hello everyone! Its Tuesday today, and the tilers aren't here! sniff sniff... One of them is literally MISSING, the other tiler says he is going to the Police Station and Hospitals today to try and find him. He's been missing since Saturday morning. GREAT. Should we believe him?? dunno...
ANYWAY, the two beds for the guest room are arriving today, yipee!! I was out this morning to buy a bedside light, towel rail, laundry basket etc for the ensuite. Its going to look stunning! I'll send some pictures as soon as its finished. Next year Wednesday maybe. Oh, and the painters are coming tomorrow, so thats great, at least something will be happening. On another subject, I had to take Cosby to the vet yesterday because he ate rat poison, they made him puke and then put him on a drip, shame, poor thing! So now he's running around with a little shaved leg. Handsome.
Thats all for now folks! Cheerio.

Hello everyone! Sorry there hasn't been any new photos for a while again, but thats because...nothing is happening here! Very frustrating but hey, T.I.A...as Joe says. (THIS IS AFRICA!!). The tilers came on Monday and Tuesday and tiled 3/4 of the lounge, and then they dissapeared. hmmm...they say they will be coming back around lunchtime today. We'll have to wait and see!
Its definitely Winter now, very cold nights but sunny during the day. Its always cold inside though, especially living on concrete. We will survive! Not long till you come over now Alison, we are looking forward to it. MAYBE you're room will be finished!? We hope so!!
Cheerio :-)

Judas and his 'handlanger' (hand longer literally translated!!) smashing out bricks.
What a nice mess...
Judas almost finished building our "braai plek".
The slate finally arrived, yay!!
A close up. Its called "Rosa Stone".
The ensuite-to-be...
Joe (what a lovely smile) having a hard time getting all the navilon off the floors.
It was a really kak job! Sam our gardener was helping.
At last! The ugly verandah's are off.
Nice hole in the wall! There was just a window here, now theres double doors.
